Reflecting on 2024

Our community has had a challenging and fulfilling year. As we look back on 2024, the significant milestones we experienced together are a powerful reminder of God’s work in our lives. The Speer Dream Foundation has been honored to stand beside some truly impactful organizations this year as we work to address critical needs and foster positive change in our community.
Our partners at St. Petersburg College were able to continue their offerings through the First Step Scholarship program. This is a remarkable program with inspiring graduates. The recipients of the scholarship show us how important it is to work together to offer a sense of hope and opportunity through education and the ability to bring about generational transformation.
In July, St. Anthony’s Hospital unveiled a significant development in their ability to discover and research novel diseases. We partnered with the hospital foundation to purchase a new Zeiss Kinevo Microscope to support the medical group and advance their life-saving initiatives in neurological services.
As part of our ongoing and important partnerships with military and first responder assistance programs, we worked with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Foundation to support their reunification taskforce. This program is a critical piece of the emergency response picture. Programs like this are critically needed in our community and others, especially after devastating hurricanes like we experienced this year.
During the aftermath of hurricanes Helene and Milton, our community truly rallied together, extending such incredible generosity through direct giving and partnerships with groups including The Kind Mouse, the Coast Guard Foundation, Countryside Cares, Heroes of the St. Pete Police & Fire Rescue, Reach St. Pete, St. Pete Fools Charities, Whatever It Takes and Julie Weintraub’s Hands Across the Bay allowing Speer Dream Foundation to give grants directly to individuals. Making immediate impacts at the ground level, our partners made a difference in the lives of our neighbors, friends, colleagues and family members impacted by these storms.
The stories of these incredible organizations stepping up to transform lives, build communities and enact positive change are exactly what the Speer Dream Foundation is all about. We’re here to support organizations like these and ask you to join us in this significant work. Addressing community needs requires a comprehensive approach and a commitment to innovation and collaboration.

We’re looking forward to another impactful year in 2025. So many talented and driven individuals have given so much to this community over the past year, and we know that through God’s work, next year will be even better.
